Once you open an infected pen-drive, the Autorun.inf gets copied and your machine also gets infected as well. However, there’s a very simple protection method that doesn’t require any third-party software. For that, you will have to enable viewing both hidden and protected files.
1) You can do this simply by enabling the options from Folder Options as shown in the following image:
2) Now, all system files will appear in Windows Explorer including autorun.inf. Autorun.inf works only when you open the external device. So, don’t use the open option from the Autorun menu
3) Instead use the explore option from the context menu when you open the removable device you can see and delete autorun.in.
4) In this way, you can protect your pc from Autorun.inf virus
