What is tweaking..?

Tweaking refers to making adjustments in an existing functioning by modifying its registry settings. Tweaks are additional modifications made to improve a system. Tweaking is done to changing settings, adding programs, etc. in order to make your computer run faster or more efficiently, improve your download speeds (upload can not be adjusted) as much as possible, as well as to fix other TCP/IP (speed-related) problems that you might have.

In the case of hardware, tweaking includes:-
1) changing the clock speed of the CPU, a procedure known as “overclocking.” Software tweaks are done to improve the program’s performance.

Software tweaks include:-
1) Turning off tooltips
2) Removing “undeletable” icons from the desktop
3) Turning off Messenger
4) Forcing hidden systems files to display in Desktop Explorer
5) Removing unneeded devices and processes from the Start Manager
6) Prevent Internet Explorer from being “hijacked” when surfing the Web
